Bounded by Subang Lane, Punggol Way and the TPE, Matilda Edge is located at the edge of the Matilda district in Punggol. The development’s name is also inspired by the Matilda House, one of the oldest houses in Singapore (it’s now a clubhouse). Matilda Edge consists of nine blocks, with a total of 1,330 units made up of 2-, 3- and 4-room flats. There is also a block of rental flats (223A) at the corner of the development that is not available for sale to the public.

The idea of the feature wall is that it’s supposed to stand out. So here’s a good way to make it more conspicuous: instead of having it flat, make it dimensional with a zigzag design. What we love about this feature wall are the additional nooks for display and the seamless storage cabinets that blend right in with the design.

Black-framed glass walls are ubiquitous, but we’re not sick of this look just yet because it’s really quite practical. It’s a great way to let the natural light in, and it helps to open up a small home that’s short on space.
Consider having your TV feature wall in an unconventional position – vertical rather than horizontal. It can serve to block your living spaces from the entrance of your home. In this layout, the sofa leans against the windows. Choose one that has a lower back so that your window view won’t be completely obstructed.

One of the most persistent interior trends in Singapore is combining the master bedroom with a common bedroom in order to accommodate a walk-in wardrobe. We love how this opens up the space in your sleeping quarters, as this is usually done by hacking the wall in between. The issue here is you can’t completely remove everything; the structural beam and column can’t be knocked down. But why go against it when you can make something out of it? Brush it with black paint to make a daring design statement.

The wall between the living room and another bedroom was knocked down in order to create a sense of spaciousness. Instead of concrete, media units like the large screen TV was used to segregate the communal spaces.
We really love how generous and functional the bay windows are here. They feature as lounging areas, reading nooks and display platforms.

A sliding shelf set atop a bay window is a great way to save floor space in a small study. You can use one side as an extra seat! Make sure they are see-through though, so you can still invite the view and light in.
