As the only plus BTO project in the February 2025 sales launch, Stirling Horizon's location in Queenstown is clearly the main reason for its status. The immediate vicinity is somewhat lacking—it’s in an older neighbourhood without many exciting attractions. But there are plenty of appealing amenities just a 15-min walk away. It is surrounded by older flats (fun fact: the estate was built in the late 1960s), though this may change as some adjacent plots currently used for the Special Operations Command base are set to be rezoned for residential development. Nearby, upcoming BTO projects Queen’s Canopy and Queen’s Arc are also set to bring new life to the area.&nbsp;<figure class="image"><img style="aspect-ratio:1200/677;" src="https://d213h1b7vxzzl3.cloudfront.net/editor/7130d8c2-1c9a-4c7b-9e0f-e8b987f7bf53-blob" width="1200" height="677"></figure>Stirling Horizon, in between the new and the old&nbsp;<figure class="image"><img style="aspect-ratio:1200/677;" src="https://d213h1b7vxzzl3.cloudfront.net/editor/fb0d6a87-eb08-48c6-811b-05713c902f5d-blob" width="1200" height="677"></figure>Mei Chin Road borders one side of the BTO. It's not an overly busy one, but it does see regular traffic, especially coming in from Queensway&nbsp;<figure class="image"><img style="aspect-ratio:1200/675;" src="https://d213h1b7vxzzl3.cloudfront.net/editor/619f5a89-cffa-44bb-ad72-e2ac45de2d8b-blob" width="1200" height="675"></figure>Queensway, a major road that sees very heavy traffic. Stacks at Stirling Horizon facing this road are somewhat buffered by the petrol stations and the carpark on site&nbsp;Be prepared for the slight hike if you’re walking from Queenstown MRT station as the BTO is located on somewhat elevated ground. The walk will take you around 10 mins from the station, and there’s not much of a shelter if you are not cutting through the HDB blocks.&nbsp;<figure class="image"><img style="aspect-ratio:1200/677;" src="https://d213h1b7vxzzl3.cloudfront.net/editor/b4282f44-09db-4666-b894-998a44cf999d-blob" width="1200" height="677"></figure>&nbsp;It's quite a bit of a trek to the Queenstown MRT (site for Stirling Horizon at the background of image)&nbsp;There might be more bus stops in the area, but for now, the nearest ones are across from the BTO and along Queensway. There's just one bus at the stop across the road, but it will take you all the way to town. The buses along Queensway offer more comprehensive routes, getting you to places like Bedok, Serangoon, Harbourfront and Jurong East.&nbsp;<figure class="image"><img style="aspect-ratio:1200/675;" src="https://d213h1b7vxzzl3.cloudfront.net/editor/79865dda-10cd-41e9-99e2-e4678e2cd6fd-blob" width="1200" height="675"></figure>The bus stop across the BTO site has a bus that takes you to town&nbsp;Amenities wise, Stirling Horizon sits across from a neighbourhood centre, which feels pretty somewhat antiquated with its array of mom-and-pop shops as well as the Mei Ling Market and Food Centre. Most shops and food stalls were closed though when I visited the place just after lunch on a weekday, and the whole area feels like it needs a bit of a revitalisation. Still, there’s an unhurried, old-school vibe about the place, which some will love. Your nearest supermarket is a Fairprice along Stirling Road at block 170.&nbsp;<figure class="image"><img style="aspect-ratio:1200/675;" src="https://d213h1b7vxzzl3.cloudfront.net/editor/5f8db8b7-7745-4f96-a676-87decac8eeef-blob" width="1200" height="675"></figure>Mei Ling Market &amp; Food Centre&nbsp;<figure class="image"><img style="aspect-ratio:1200/677;" src="https://d213h1b7vxzzl3.cloudfront.net/editor/48fddd66-6782-45ad-bfd7-f21dd75ac994-blob" width="1200" height="677"></figure>Inside the hawker centre—not a lot of shops were opened&nbsp;&nbsp;For people who love to cycle or take walks, there’s an entrance to the Alexandra-Queensway park connector right next to the BTO, which is next to a new 1.4-hectare park (about the size of two football fields) being built nearby. This connector will take you to spots along the Singapore River and the Southern Ridges.&nbsp;<figure class="image"><img style="aspect-ratio:1200/677;" src="https://d213h1b7vxzzl3.cloudfront.net/editor/f257b2c8-a7fd-4e15-9953-54c10dfe040b-blob" width="1200" height="677"></figure>The Alexandra-Queensway park connector (site for Stirling Horizon is to the right of image)&nbsp;<figure class="image"><img style="aspect-ratio:1140/641;" src="https://d213h1b7vxzzl3.cloudfront.net/editor/e03b3bf7-22f3-4028-91e9-ac3db9915768-blob" width="1140" height="641"></figure>Site for a new park in the area&nbsp;&nbsp;Fitness enthusiasts will be pleased to know that just next to Stirling Horizon, the Queenstown Sport Centre, which closed in May 2023 for refurbishment, is set to reopen by the end of this year. New amenities will include more free-to-play spaces and renovated pool facilities.&nbsp;<figure class="image"><img style="aspect-ratio:1200/675;" src="https://d213h1b7vxzzl3.cloudfront.net/editor/d718a18a-23fc-406b-a9d2-9aa1320e150e-blob" width="1200" height="675"></figure>Queenstown Sport Centre is still undergoing renovation&nbsp;If you're looking for more food options, you might want to check out the Margaret Market and the Margaret Drive Hawker Centre. They’re both fairly new and tend to attract a good lunchtime crowd from nearby offices. This is about a 10-min walk from the BTO.&nbsp;<figure class="image"><img style="aspect-ratio:1200/677;" src="https://d213h1b7vxzzl3.cloudfront.net/editor/071ffc81-0b06-4e3e-9cf8-05dcf80d04b8-blob" width="1200" height="677"></figure>Margaret Drive Hawker Centre&nbsp;Just under 15 mins by foot, you’ll be able to get to Anchorpoint shopping mall (which houses a Cold Storage supermarket) and Queensway Shopping Centre, the latter of which is known as the place to get your sports equipment. Then there’s also IKEA Alexandra just a bridge across from Anchorpoint.&nbsp;<figure class="image"><img style="aspect-ratio:1200/677;" src="https://d213h1b7vxzzl3.cloudfront.net/editor/3b39f224-ff95-4b96-94c6-57b9dd5bbc1a-blob" width="1200" height="677"></figure>Anchorpoint mall&nbsp; &nbsp;Schools possibly within a 1km radius include New Town Primary School and Queenstown Primary School.&nbsp;<h3>Which units should you go for at Stirling Horizon</h3>The stacks are all north-south facing which is supposedly ideal for wind if your unit isn’t blocked by another. The blocks are also spaced relatively far apart, which will do well for privacy. It does mean the stacks will all get a bit of the afternoon sun coming in from either the north-west or south-west directions though.&nbsp;<figure class="image"><img style="aspect-ratio:1200/1158;" src="https://d213h1b7vxzzl3.cloudfront.net/editor/99e8bf22-a763-459a-813b-e04037c505ca-blob" width="1200" height="1158"></figure>Before we dive into the specific stacks, I would like to also mention that the three blocks are designed in a staggered layout, with block 187A being the tallest, reaching between 43 and 47 stories. This is important to consider if you’re looking at an inward-facing stack, as it can affect the views you'll have if your unit faces another block within the project. Best to check the 3D model of Stirling Horizon though, just to be sure.Just a heads-up, this BTO won’t have the Pneumatic Waste Conveyance System, so refuse collection will be done manually. This means the truck will go from block to block to collect trash. Type 1 units (stacks 513, 533, 553) are smaller and cheaper, whereas Type 2 units offer a larger square footage and are priced higher.</li><li>Stack 531 at block 186B will comprise of rental units from the 3rd floor to the 14th floor.</li><li>You could enjoy relatively unobstructed views from units above the 40th floor in stacks 541, 545, 547, 551, 553, and 555 at block 187A.</li><li>The kitchen windows at stacks 513, 533, 535, 553 and 555 may pick up the smells and noise from the garbage trucks that come by. (*These stacks come with the added perk of park views.)</li><li>The units above the 8th floor in stacks 501, 503, and 519 are also pretty okay for unblocked views.</li><li>For privacy, stack 505 is my ideal choice, whereas stack 503 is my second pick. For the latter, go for a unit above the 8th floor if you want privacy.</li><li>The kitchen/service yard windows at stacks 515, 517, 537 and 557 may pick up the smells and noise from the garbage trucks that come by.
